How to pull off CULOTTES

Culottes are women's flared trousers cut to look like a skirt.:-)

Culottes are chic, effortless, comfortable and a easy piece this year.If you are unsure about how to rock them, take cues from designer / street style

Scroll down for different ways on how to wear cullotes.

1) Don't be afraid to mix textures and oversized shapes -- I promise it won't look sloppy if you stick to minimal, closed sandals!

 2) Opt for a knit sweater and ankle boots on your lazier days. Throw on a knee-grazing jacket for an interesting play on lengths.

3) Keep it fresh with bright, interesting colour combinations. There's nothing worse than drab and dreary!

4) Tuck in a body shirt for a feminine silhouette. Extra points for stripes!

Try out culottes and share pics with me in staystylist@gmail.com. Stay cool n StayStylish!

Must have wardrobe essentials! (Part 1)

It’s a new year and that means it’s time to kick up your style and assess your wardrobe.
There are essential items that should be in every woman’s closet.
Instead of buying trendy items with little lasting value from season to season, invest in pieces that can serve as building blocks for your wardrobe every year. You should and must personalize these items. They’re not all the same for everyone, so select styles that pertain to your own lifestyle and your own taste. Then mix and match all of these items to create looks that are easy, yet still classy.

Basic Black Dress
We all know that you can dress it up to take it out, that’s its intention, but you can also pair an item like this with a cardigan for work. So it’s an easy item to transition.

Day Dress
This is a dress that you’re probably going to wear to shopping or work or run chores in it. It is never intended to be a dress that you would wear to a cocktail party alternative.

 Classic White Shirt
This should be in every woman’s wardrobe. Pair it with jeans, a skirt or dress pants for an easy, polished outfit.

Classic Blazer
This is the easiest way in the world to dress up a T-shirt and a pair of jeans and take them almost anywhere.

Spring Trend: Pastel

Pastels this season aren’t about being airy you float away; in fact, they’re a great contrast to more powerful designs, or even a way to scale back drama if you’re hoping to tone it down for work.

Trend Alert: Shower shoes, the next big thing this season

My interpretations of the trend, shower shoes! Are you ready to give your old hostel staple a second life?
That being said , we are picking up on a new trend thanks to none other than cult classics, Celine, Isabel Marant and Chloe who have wrought the latest ugly pretty trend on us.

First of all, it's not often that a trendy shoe is this comfortable. Second, they're cool in that throwback 90's Magazine kind of way — and Kate Moss did make them look awfully good back in the day. Third, they're a very low buy-in trend.
Check out some options below as fashion darlings sporting the trend and let us know what you think!

Futuristic Fashion : 3 D Printing

3D Printing has enthusiast: Lady Gaga,  given the pop star’s penchant for pushing the boundaries of fashion, it was only natural that she should be drawn to 3D printing, a technology that is reimagining the possibilities of fashion.
Would you like to be able to print your own jewellery? How about shoes or dresses?
Companies such as Hot Pop Factory are printing jewelry. Retailers such as New Balance are printing shoes. These pioneering innovations are exciting, but what’s a 3D printed necklace without a shirt or dress to match? 3D Printing and Fashion just recently met a couple of years ago, but their friendship is off to a promising start.
The idea of custom design has mass appeal and marketability. Who doesn’t want to wear a one-of-a-kind, perfectly tailored piece? Perhaps the teenage girl of the future won’t have to suffer the social agony of showing up to a school dance wearing the same dress as her archenemy.

Trend Alert: Red

Red dresses were another big trend at 2014 Golden Globe Awards. Red dresses ON the red carpet have been quite the trend for the last few seasons so it's no surprise the color is going to continue to be big for the 2014 Awards Season.

My Top Favorite gown here is the red off-the-shoulder caped column Ralph Lauren gown on Lupita Nyong'o. HANDS DOWN. The Best.
